What puts the 'multi' in Multimedia?

The first time I understood what multimedia meant, I was watching Parks and Recreation when Tom Haverford, the show's fanciful entrepreneur, began to pitch his new business, Entertainment 720:
So, his definition of multimedia includes......
Film production and radio
Record production
Youtube, Tweets, and Facebook statuses
DJ-ing
Pet funeral memorial videos
Rad visual effects
Interior Design
Catering
Okay, maybe Tom Haverford isn't the best reference for a definition. But I somewhat agree with him. Multimedia is multiple forms of media; it's not just boxed into TV, print, or radio.
"If you call it entertainment, we'll handle it!"- Tom Haverford
!!SPOILER ALERT!! Entertainment 720 fails hilariously only two episodes later. If I had been their Creative Director, which is my dream job, I would've definitely helped them organize their pitch to clients, and developed a multimedia portfolio for their clients to see. Creating a portfolio is actually something I'm looking forward to in this class. To be a successful Creative Director, you have to understand all types of media, and I want my portfolio to reflect my knowledge and skills in addition to my creativity. I can't wait to diversify my portfolio and learn how to use multiple forms of media to engage the public. Who knows what I'll be able to create?
